Yulin Energy will accelerate the industrialization of the project for producing needle coke from medium- and low-temperature coal tar. Zhao Yong, the Party secretary of the group company, attended the meeting and delivered a speech; the meeting was chaired by Huang Ye, the deputy chief engineer. Li Dong’s team, a professor and doctoral supervisor at Northwest University, along with the Group’s Coal-Based High-Purity Carbon Engineering R&D Center, gave a special presentation on the interim achievements of the project and the plans for future work. Taking into account the situation of the semi-coke and coal tar industries in Yulin, the participants analyzed the current production and sales status as well as the application prospects of needle coke. They believed that the research achievements obtained are of great significance for the industrial transformation and expansion of Yulin City and Yueneng Group, and suggested increasing investment in research and development as well as initiating scale-up experiments at the earliest possible time. During the industrialization of the project, efforts are made to promote it in coordination with coal-based high-purity carbon research projects. Zhao Yong pointed out that the research projects on producing needle coke and coal-based high-purity carbon from medium- and low-temperature coal tar are both carbon material initiatives that use \"Yulin coal\" as raw material, and there are similarities and aspects that can be borrowed in terms of research mechanisms and applications. He urged all departments of the group company to actively advance relevant research work, to ensure proper planning and coordination from the outset, and to include scientific and technological research efforts in the group’s 14th Five-Year Plan and related plans, thereby putting innovative thinking and new development concepts into practice through concrete actions. At the meeting, Huang Ye made arrangements for specific matters, urging relevant departments to work closely together to formulate implementation plans and development strategies as soon as possible for discussion and decision-making by the group company.
