This demonstration project is precisely the EPC turnkey construction project undertaken by Donghua Technology. The text states that the R-GAS gasifier utilizes patented technology from the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), and it is the world’s first of its kind, featuring advanced process technology. Drawing on the design experience of injectors from the aerospace industry, this technology enables a maximum temperature in the gasification zone of up to 2500°C, allowing it to gasify low-quality coals with high ash fusion points and other similar materials. The development and application of this technology can fundamentally solve the problem of direct gasification of such high-ash-fusion-point coals in Shanxi Province and across the country. Its successful adoption is expected to bring about a historic transformation in the sustainable use of low-quality coals in Shanxi Province. In addition, the R-GAS gasification technology also boasts advantages such as a small furnace volume and a high carbon conversion rate. Calculations show that with the use of this new gasification technology, the cost of syngas production in Shanxi region can be reduced by 0.2 yuan per standard cubic meter; the cost of synthetic ammonia can be lowered by approximately 420 yuan per ton, while the cost of urea production can be reduced by about 246 yuan per ton. Donghua Technology was involved throughout the entire process of the Yangquan Coal R-GAS gasification project – from the feasibility study phase, through short-term and long-term pilot tests, to the stages of engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. The company assigned its most skilled technical professionals to ensure the successful implementation of the project. Through the efforts of all project team members and with the full cooperation of various parties including Yangmei Group, the Yangmei R-GAS gasification project was mechanically completed on November 20, 2019. To date, the coal grinding unit and coal powder conveying unit in the project’s raw material section have both had their processes successfully established, and the ignition test using GTI’s complete set of equipment was successful. Next, tests will be carried out involving the introduction of oxygen and coal.
