After the major maintenance, the coal-to-oil production facility of Xia Coal-to-Oil Branch was able to operate both its methanol and oil production units at full capacity. At 12:00 on July 9, 2020, both the methanol production line and the oil production line at Ningxia Coal Industry’s coal-to-oil branch were operating at 100% capacity. Thus, the most extensive maintenance campaign ever carried out since the construction of the coal-to-oil plant was a complete success. The overall goals of carrying out the maintenance properly, completing it effectively, and restarting the plant smoothly were achieved. All 23 gasifiers are operating stably, the entire plant is running at full capacity, process parameters are under stable control, equipment is in good working condition, and product quality meets the required standards. This marks a new chapter in the safe, stable, and clean production of coal-to-oil products, as well as in increasing output and efficiency. To address the bottlenecks that hinder the safe, stable, and clean operation of coal-to-oil production, and to eliminate the defects and potential risks that have accumulated over the three years since the plant went into operation, starting from May 5th, the Coal-to-Oil Branch organized the most extensive maintenance campaign ever carried out on this facility, involving the deepest level of inspections and repairs. A total of 10,042 maintenance projects have been carried out, including 29 key technical upgrades and meetings, overhauls of 60 key units, replacement of 28 reactors and 2,659 tons of catalysts, regular inspections of 876 pressure vessels and 17,645 pressure pipelines, removal of 762 fixtures, and elimination of 959 safety hazards.
