On August 24, Shandong Hongda Bio (Group) Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanxi Yangmei Chemical Machinery (Group) Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Taiyuan. The two parties will work together throughout the entire life cycle of the Fuyu Fine Chemicals and New Materials project in Shanxi, for which two sets of Jinhua Furnaces will be used in the gasification unit. Wu Guangchuan, Executive Deputy General Manager of Shandong Hongda, and Xie Wenxuan, Marketing Manager of Yangquan Coal Chemical Machinery, signed on behalf of the two parties. Long Hua, deputy general manager of Shandong Hongda, Zhao Xiaoqing, general manager of Shanxi Fuyu Bio-New Materials Co., Ltd., Li Guangmin, chairman of Yangmei Chemical Machinery, Ren Jinso, general manager of the same company, and Ma Hongbo, general manager of Qingchuang Jinhua, were among those who witnessed the signing. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 14 sets of Jinhua Furnace 3.0 have been ordered, accounting for 70% of the market share in gasification during the same period. It is widely used in high-sulfur coal, Shenmu coal, high-alkali slag coal, lignite, etc. The Jinhua furnace enables the use of local coal as raw material; Shanxi coal can be utilized as a gasification feedstock. The waste boiler produces 900 kg/K (CO+H2) Nm3 of gas, and no steam is required for the shift reaction. Compared with dry-powder gasification, the cost per kNm3 (CO+H2) is reduced by 200 yuan. According to Wu Guangchuan, the Fuyu Fine Chemicals and New Materials project in Shanxi is a key provincial-level project in Shanxi Province, with a total investment of 13.6 billion yuan and a total land area of 2,000 mu. The project will be constructed in three phases over a period of 6 years. Phase 1 requires an investment of 7.3 billion yuan and is aimed at producing 1.345 million tons per year of basic chemicals and fine chemical products such as acetic acid, acetaldoxime, and isopentenol. Phase 2 involves an investment of 2.8 billion yuan and is focused on manufacturing 300,000 tons per year of food additives and pharmaceutical intermediates. Phase 3 demands an investment of 3.5 billion yuan and is intended for the production of 160,000 tons per year of new materials such as polyglycolic acid and polylactic acid. Once Phase 1 of the project is put into operation, it will be able to generate an annual output value of 6 to 8 billion yuan, as well as annual profits and taxes amounting to 6 to 800 million yuan. It will create 2,000 job opportunities, helping to double the scale of Yushi’s industrial economy and laying the foundation for the innovative development of its industry. Once all the projects are put into operation and reach full capacity, it will become a domestic hub for high-quality fine chemicals, capable of generating annual sales revenue of over 20 billion yuan and total profits and taxes of 5 billion yuan. The civil construction work for the project commenced in late August, equipment installation took place in November, and the project was put into operation as scheduled in October 2021. With a tight schedule and heavy responsibilities, it is hoped that both parties will strengthen their cooperation to create a model project.
