The Yaxin coke oven in Qingxu, Shanxi is set to be ignited for heating; the coke oven gas will be used in the project for producing LNG via ethylene glycol. Author/Source: Yahuahua Coal Chemicals. Date: 2020-08-06. Clicks: 30. “The Yaxin coke oven is scheduled to be ignited for heating on August 24th.” This is another good news following the ignition and heating-up of Coke Oven No. 1 in Gengyang and Coke Oven No. 4 in Meijin on June 22 and July 23, respectively. By the end of the year, 8 coke ovens, as well as some supporting processing projects for needle coke and gas purification, will come online and become operational. ” The image shows the Meijin Coking Project, which has been completed as part of the Qingxu Fine Chemicals Recycling Industrial Park, the person in charge of the Qingxu Economic Development Zone Management Committee told reporters on August 2. The Qingxu Fine Chemicals Recycling Industrial Park, whose construction was approved in February 2018, is located in the Qingxu Economic Development Zone. It covers a total area of 7,674 mu, and its construction is carried out by three private enterprises in the county – Meijin, Gengyang, and Yaxin – with a total investment of around 40 billion yuan. Since the start of operations in the park, Qingxu County and Qingxu Economic Development Zone have focused on high-end development, aiming to build industries related to hydrogen energy, carbon materials, and environmentally friendly solvent oils – industries that rely on technologies such as hydrogen purification, supercapacitor carbon, ultra-high power graphite electrodes, nuclear industry graphite, pitch-based carbon fibers, lithium battery anode materials, and polymethoxymethane. At the same time, the industrial park has intensified its efforts in product research and development, establishing cooperation mechanisms with institutions such as China University of Mining and Technology and Taiyuan University of Technology. The production equipment is on par with international standards; large top-loading coke ovens over 7 meters in length, which have won first prizes for scientific and technological progress, are used, along with electrical automation control systems from world-class companies such as Siemens, ABB, and Schneider. This enables automated production with human supervision but no need for manual operation. The park is designed and constructed to standards that are stricter than those specified in the environmental impact assessment approval. To control unorganized emissions, negative pressure is used during coal loading to reduce smoke emissions; through the renovation and expansion of the railway logistics network for coal within the park, as well as the use of silos for storage and closed-loop pipeline systems for transportation, clean transportation is ensured – with coal not being handled in the open air and coke not coming into contact with the ground ; Coking, chemical industry wastewater, and domestic sewage are collected, treated, and reused in a classified manner; the wastewater treatment rate reaches 100%, enabling the comprehensive utilization of wastewater resources and zero emissions ; Designed in accordance with the standards for 3A-level tourist attractions, environmental protection investments account for 30% of the total investment, and the greening rate of the park will be over 30%. At the same time, efforts should be made to strengthen the development of smart park platforms, and environmental and safety management services should be introduced so that professionals can handle specialized tasks. Adhering to the principle of \"reciprocal interaction and full utilization,\" Meijin, Gengyang, Yaxin, and Yangmei Chemical New Materials each focus on different aspects of chemical processing. By utilizing the coke oven gas in the industrial park, as well as gas from blast furnaces and converters, along with existing carbon dioxide emissions, these companies have established industrial chains for the co-production of ethylene glycol, LNG, hydrogen energy, and environmentally friendly solvent oils ; The crude benzene produced by coking is transported via pipelines to the Yangmei Chemical’s crude benzene processing facility as raw material, thereby solving the issue of having to purchase raw materials from external sources ; The coal tar produced through coking is transported via pipelines to carbon fiber demonstration projects such as those for super-high power graphite electrodes in Jingyang and negative electrode materials for lithium batteries ; The coking project is equipped with dry quenching systems; the high-pressure steam generated is sent via pipelines to Yangmei New Materials to replace the existing coal-fired boilers, thereby enabling the hierarchical utilization of all steam energy in the industrial park. Once completed and put into operation, the Qingxu Fine Chemicals Recycling Industrial Park is expected to generate an annual output value of 45 billion yuan, profits of 8 billion yuan, and tax revenues of 4 billion yuan. Together with the already established Yangmei Chemical New Materials facility, the annual output value can reach over 60 billion yuan, gradually giving rise to an industrial cluster worth hundreds of billions. Wang Jianfeng, Secretary of the Qingxu County Party Committee, said, “The Comprehensive Chemical Industry Circular Park delivers significant benefits. We will seize development opportunities and make every effort to ensure that the related projects are completed and put into operation as soon as possible, with the goal of turning this park into a new model for the energy revolution at the national level and a demonstration park for transformation and upgrading in the province.” ” Shanxi Meijin Huasheng Chemical New Materials Co., Ltd.’s project for producing 300,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol along with LNG from integrated exhaust gas – Project updates: On June 25, the three nitric acid reduction towers of the DMO unit were successfully installed ; On July 10, the three MN regeneration columns of the DMO unit were successfully installed at the lower level ; On July 18, 4 ethylene glycol synthesis towers for the EG unit were successfully installed ; On July 25, the two dealcoholization towers of the EG unit were successfully installed at their designated positions ; On July 29, the lower column of the methanol recovery tower for the EG unit was successfully installed. To date, the project team has completed 6,910 tons of steel structure installation, accounting for 76.8% of the total required; 85 units of static equipment have been installed, representing 30% of the target. 30,000 inches of process pipes have been prefabricated, and 10,000 inches have been installed. The first-time pass rate for radiographic inspection is 98.5%. The project has seen a surge in enthusiasm for \"full mobilization and accelerated progress\".
