This post was last edited by liaifeng on 2018-9-2 at 15:16. The first Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reactor at Shenhua Ningmei’s coal-to-oil synthetic oil plant began operating at full capacity. On March 14, 2017, the first Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reactor in the synthetic oil plant of Shenning Coal Industry Group’s coal-to-oil division started functioning stably at full capacity. The F-T synthesis reactor is the core equipment in coal indirect liquefaction projects. It is understood that prior to this, due to various factors, the reactor was unable to operate at full capacity as designed. To this end, the factory organized key technical personnel to conduct multiple rounds of discussions with the designers from Zhongke Synthetic Oil Engineering Company. They carried out comparative analyses of the process parameters at various stages of the entire process against the design values, conducted in-depth research, identified the root causes of the problems, and decided to make changes to the reactor internals and certain aspects of the process flow, thereby successfully resolving several issues that had hindered an increase in the reactor’s load. The FTO synthesis reactor has now reached full-load stable operation, successfully verifying the effectiveness of the measures taken in recent maintenance projects and providing a roadmap for the maintenance work on the other seven units. This marks the growing maturity of the industrial application of FTO synthesis technology, which is currently the largest of its kind in the world. At present, the factory is having its technical staff collect and organize data from all stages of the FTO Series 3 process, establish a database, and conduct comparative analyses with the data from before defects were resolved as well as with the design values, in order to further optimize performance and provide technical support for the full-load operation of the entire oil production system in Phase A. I remember seeing some time ago that Shenhua Ningmei already had three FTO reactors operating at full capacity.

However, due to the loss of technical experts, the root cause could never be identified. Otherwise, they should have been operating at full capacity last June
