Front and rear sections of the Klaus exhaust gas incinerator

I would like to ask fellow sailors: I’ve come across several drawings of exhaust gas furnaces recently, which are divided into a front section and a rear section. The operating temperature in the front section is 1400°C, while it’s 700°C in the rear section. From what I learned before, the operating temperature of exhaust gas furnaces is usually around 600–700°C. So what’s the reason for 1400°C in the front section?
Is it really that high? Generally, the front section of the incinerator in sulfur recovery systems is around 1,000 at most, right? What is the basis for 1400? I have a question: handshake
