Cold-state alignment of the turbine in the air separation unit of Yueneng Chemical’s ethylene glycol project completed Author/Source: Yueneng Chemical Date: 2022-04-13 Clicks: 25 On April 12, at the construction site of the air separation unit for Yueneng Chemical’s ethylene glycol project, through the joint efforts of the company’s syngas center, as well as manufacturers such as German Mannesmann and Air Liquide, as well as Sinochem 10th Construction Group, the cold-state alignment of the turbine in the air separation unit was successfully completed. To ensure the successful completion of the turbine’s cold alignment, the personnel from the syngas central air separation unit and the manufacturer took multiple measurements of the turbine’s cold alignment data, discussed potential issues repeatedly, developed corresponding adjustment plans, and thus ensured the smooth completion of this alignment process. The completion of the cold alignment of the turbine in the air separation unit marks the entry into the full installation phase for the air compressors and boosters in the company’s ethylene glycol project’s air separation unit, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent installation and commissioning of the units as well as the smooth operation of the air separation unit. It is reported that the turbine used in the air separation unit of Company B’s ethylene glycol project was manufactured by German company Mannesmann Turbo, which enjoys a high reputation worldwide. A turbine is an external combustion rotary machine that converts the thermal energy of steam into mechanical work. Once the steam from the boiler enters the turbine, it passes through a series of annularly arranged nozzles and blades, thereby converting the thermal energy of the steam into mechanical energy that drives the rotation of the turbine rotor.
