Date: August 18, 2020. Clicks: 21. On August 16, the low-temperature methanol washing unit in Xinlianxin Company’s industrial upgrading project officially started its water testing process. The water interconnection of the methanol washing unit is an important step prior to the commissioning of the methanol washing section. This water transport process can further clean out debris inside the equipment and pipelines, and determine whether there are any leaks in them ； Secondly, all mechanical pumps begin joint trial operation, which allows for further evaluation of the installation quality and performance of these pumps ； Furthermore, it is possible to verify the performance of primary and secondary instruments, as well as to check whether the DCS system is operating properly and stably. To ensure the smooth progress of the water-intermodal transport, the methanol washing project team responsible for industrial upgrading, along with the operation team of the fourth branch company, carried out intensive work including airtightness tests, strength tests, instrument calibration, and load testing of pumps and motors. Subsequently, the conditions prior to the water intermodal transport were verified one by one, implemented, and rectified, while a detailed water intermodal transport plan was developed. To avoid stress on the pipe connections of the pumps and prevent excessive equipment vibration, the project team worked together with the construction contractor to conduct stress-free tests on the pump inlets and outlets, as well as to realign the motor and the coupling connected to the pump head. During the water-cooling operation period, the project team ensured that the methanol washing unit system achieved its optimal performance by strictly controlling each process. The water interconnection test of the methanol washing unit has been officially carried out. This not only verifies the preliminary work done on the methanol washing section, but also enables personnel to gain practical experience in operating the processes on site as well as the equipment and instruments, thus laying a solid foundation for the actual start of production. The implementation of water-methanol combined transportation marks another solid step forward for industrial upgrading projects, toward methanol washing, methanol combined transportation, and chemical feedstock utilization.
