I am the person in charge of putting the largest single-unit fixed-bed hydrogen peroxide production facility into operation / Source: Sinochem New Network, Date: 2020-08-21, Clicks: 12. The new anthraquinone process developed by Liming Institute is being used. On August 18, it was reported by Liming Chemical Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd. that the fixed-bed anthraquinone process hydrogen peroxide production facility built using this new production method has been successfully commissioned at China Pingmei Shenma Group Nylon Technology Co., Ltd., and qualified products have been produced. This facility is also the largest single-production unit of its kind in use in China at present. Zhang Huiping, secretary-general of the Peroxides Branch of the Chinese Inorganic Salt Association, said that in recent years, driven by leading enterprises in the industry such as Liming Institute, the domestic technology for producing hydrogen peroxide using palladium catalysts in fixed-bed reactors based on the anthraquinone process has seen rapid improvements in terms of plant scale, equipment efficiency, catalyst performance, as well as safety and environmental considerations. This has helped China become the world’s largest producer of hydrogen peroxide products. According to Zhao Xiaodong, director of the Hydrogen Peroxide Technology Development Department at Liming Institute, this facility is a supporting component of the second phase and upgrade project for caprolactam, with a designed annual production capacity of 323,000 tons (based on 27.5% efficiency and 8,000 hours per year). The project is led by Limingyuan as the general contractor for the engineering work, and it works in conjunction with Hunan Provincial Industrial Equipment Installation Co., Ltd. to carry out this project. Limingyuan is responsible for process technology, engineering design, catalysts, chemical raw materials, and fillers, while Hunan Installation Company is in charge of project construction, installation work, and the procurement of equipment and materials. The project was signed on March 23, 2017, and passed the preliminary design review on April 18 of the same year. In June 2020, Liming Institute and Hunan Installation Company collaborated to carry out tasks such as equipment installation, commissioning, water testing, and the loading of palladium catalysts. The unit underwent a successful trial run on July 4, 2020, and produced qualified hydrogen peroxide on July 10. “Production data show that the new hydrogen peroxide production process developed by Liming Institute has significant advantages in terms of safety control, automation, energy savings and consumption reduction, as well as improved quality and efficiency; moreover, all performance indicators of the product exceed the **standards. ”A relevant official from Pingmei Shenma Group Nylon Technology Co., Ltd. said. According to Zhao Xiaodong, this project is the first for Liming Institute to enter the field of engineering general contracting. The installation was successfully commissioned and entered a stable operating phase, marking the success of the turnkey project undertaken by Liming Institute and laying the foundation for its business development and transformation. Since its first successful industrial application in 2014, the new hydrogen peroxide production process developed by Reimei Institute has seen 23 units transferred for use; 8 of these units have been put into operation and are all meeting the required performance standards. “Next, Liming Institute will further improve the new hydrogen peroxide production process by focusing on technological advancements in terms of process equipment efficiency, catalyst performance, and the production capacity of working fluids. This will enable the process to be adapted to different working fluid systems, with the goal of reaching a production capacity on the order of 500,000 tons. ”Zhao Xiaodong said.
