Material feeding at 20:18 on September 30 ； The entire system process was streamlined on October 1st ； On October 2, the plant’s production load reached 50% ； On October 8, the production load reached 70%. It set the record for the shortest startup time among domestic ethylene glycol plants. On October 15, the capacity utilization rate of Shandong Hualu Hengsheng’s 500,000-ton ethylene glycol plant reached 80%. At present, the device is operating stably with a 100% rate of high-quality output. In the next step, the operating conditions will be further adjusted and optimized to gradually increase the load to full capacity. Hualu Hengsheng’s 500,000-ton ethylene glycol production facility utilizes the syngas-to-ethylene glycol process technology developed by Ningbo Zhongke Yuandong Catalytic Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. This technology uses the purified gas from low-temperature methanol washing units as raw material, and employs advanced techniques such as DMC separation, nitric acid reduction, and heat coupling in distillation. It offers numerous advantages in terms of reducing energy consumption and material usage as well as cutting production costs; compared to similar facilities, its technical parameters are at the leading level in China. The commissioning of China’s first large-scale 500,000-ton ethylene glycol production facility serves as proof of the maturity and reliability of domestic technologies, which are capable of replacing foreign counterparts. In the future, these technologies will enter the international market, holding significant strategic importance for the development of China’s coal chemical industry.
