On September 1st, Tongde Kechuang Materials Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanxi Tongde Chemical Co., Ltd., held a ceremony to mark the start of construction for this PBAT new material industry chain integration project, signaling the official beginning of its development. The project is located in the Yuanping Economic and Technological Development Zone of Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. It will produce 2X120,000 tons per year of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) and 60,000 tons per year of fully biodegradable polyhexadecanoic acid/butylene terephthalate plastic (PBAT) by using purchased raw materials such as calcium carbide and methanol, with completion and operation expected by 2022. Hualu Company is responsible for the EPCM work, which includes the general contracting and project management of the production units, auxiliary production facilities, and utility systems within the project boundary. The contract value is 2.5 billion yuan; the contractor is responsible for managing the overall project execution related to the production facilities, auxiliary production equipment, and utility systems specified within the project boundaries. This includes carrying out tasks such as basic engineering design, preparation of specialized reports, detailed engineering design, overall plant layout planning, comprehensive plant design, procurement management (including delivery scheduling), construction management, and intermediate handover processes. Provide services such as assisting the owner with completion inspection, joint commissioning, trial operation with feed, performance evaluation, defect correction, completion inspection, and registration for completion inspection; represent the owner in managing and controlling aspects such as quality, safety, schedule, costs, contracts, and information related to the project; and offer technical support during the commissioning phase.
