New 1.8 million-ton coal chemical project built in Shanxi

On July 9, Shanxi Meijin Energy Co., Ltd. issued a announcement stating that, in accordance with the provisions of Shanxi Province’s “Notice on Issuing the Implementation Plan for Combating Pollution in the Coking Industry and Promoting Transformation and Upgrading in Shanxi Province” (Jin Zheng Ban Fa [2018] No. 98), Lüliang City’s “Notice on Issuing the Action Plan for Pollution Control, Transformation, and Upgrading in the Coking Industry in Lüliang City” (Lü Zheng Ban Fa [2018] No. 97), and the “Notice on Issuing the Management Measures for Coking Capacity Replacement and Project Approval in Lüliang City” (Lü Zheng Ban Fa [2018] No. 96), the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Shanxi Meijin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Coal Chemical”), is investing in a project aimed at upgrading the company’s coking facilities. The total investment amount for this project is 1,612,665,100 yuan. The project scope includes the construction of production facilities as well as utility and auxiliary facilities. The production facilities comprise a coal preparation system, a coke treatment system, coking facilities, dry quenching facilities, and gas purification units. The coking facilities consist of 2×70-chamber JNDX3-6.78 type solid-type tamped coke ovens with a height of 6.78 meters.
