On October 13, the “Device for Treating Water Used in the Production of Olefins from Methanol” developed by Yan’an Energy Chemical Company was awarded a **utility model invention patent**. This patent provides a method for the advanced purification of wash water generated in the methanol-to-olefins process; it offers excellent separation efficiency for catalyst particles and oil waxes present in such wash water. The equipment operates stably over long periods, is cost-effective, and features a simple separation process. It also addresses the shortcomings of existing processes, such as the tendency of separation equipment to get clogged, the need for frequent cleaning, short operational lifespans of the equipment, and incomplete removal of oil waxes and solid particles from the water. This patent was developed jointly by Yan’an Energy and Chemical Company and East China University of Science and Technology; an industrial demonstration facility for the advanced purification of washing water will ultimately be established at this company to ensure the long-term operation of the washing water system as well as the entire facility.
