On July 30, construction started on the project to produce 100,000 tons of food-grade liquid carbon dioxide per year in Qianxi County. The commencement of this project marks an important step forward in the introduction and development of a series of industrial projects in Qianxi Economic Development Zone, with Qianxi Coal Chemical Industry as its key player. It is reported that the project in Qianxi County to produce 100,000 tons of food-grade liquid carbon dioxide per year was one of the key investment attraction projects in the county for 2019. It was invested and built by Chongqing Longna Chemical Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 120 million yuan; the annual output value is over 40 million yuan, and the project covers an area of 35 mu. This project uses the carbon dioxide emissions generated during the coal-to-syngas production process at Qianxi Coal Chemical Industry as raw material. Through dry desulfurization, pre-cooling and dehumidification, adsorption purification, deep drying, and low-temperature liquefaction and distillation, it produces food-grade liquid carbon dioxide. It is an environmentally friendly project that significantly reduces the pollution caused by the carbon dioxide emissions from Qianxi Coal Chemical Industry to the atmosphere. The first phase of the project will be completed and put into operation by December 31, 2019.
