This is the first company in the Northwest region to use coke oven gas to produce high-purity hydrogen. As the strategy for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River basin is implemented, the market demands cleaner, more efficient, and greener forms of energy. Haiyan Group has chosen to promote the development of hydrogen energy as a path for industrial transformation and upgrading. After conducting thorough investigations and evaluations, the company launched a project at its subsidiary Xuchuangrui to produce hydrogen from hydrogen-rich exhaust gases. The first phase of this project began construction in March 2020, with an annual production capacity of 50 million Nm3. Despite various challenges, including those posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the project team managed to produce hydrogen for the first time on the afternoon of October 23, 2020; tests conducted by specialized institutions showed that the purity of the hydrogen reached 99.999%.
