Recently, the 9MW waste energy utilization project developed by Hangzhou Turbine Engineering Company and supplied as a complete set of systems was able to pass the 72-hour trial operation without any issues, marking the successful completion of the project. This high-temperature and high-pressure backpressure steam turbine uses products from Hangzhou Steam Turbine Co., Ltd.; it is designed based on Siemens’ Series 3 modular technology and manufactured with optimizations, enabling its efficiency to be about 8–10% higher compared to similar domestic products. This project adopts the EP model, with the company being responsible for the project’s engineering design as well as the procurement and supply of steam turbine generators and major auxiliary equipment. The main steam for the 9MW backpressure unit of Shaanxi Aowei Qianyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. comes from the owner’s existing high-temperature, high-pressure fluidized bed boiler’s main steam pipeline. The exhaust steam from this backpressure unit is fed into the plant’s existing medium-pressure pipeline through newly constructed steam pipes, which **improves economic efficiency** by allowing the steam to be reduced to medium-pressure conditions using temperature and pressure reducers, as opposed to using high-temperature, high-pressure steam directly. Due to site constraints imposed by the owner, the span of the turbine hall in the main plant is 12m, with a total length of 20m. Through research and design by the engineers from the engineering company, the turbine adopts a single-layer arrangement with steam exhaust at the top. The foundation for the turbine generator set is installed on the civil structure at the 0m level of the turbine room, which helps customers save on civil construction costs. At present, the project has been successfully put into operation as scheduled per the contract, and it is now in the operational phase. Based on the commissioning results, all the process parameters specified in the project design have been met.
