Xinjiang Qinghua Group’s coal-to-gas project operates at high capacity steadily Author/Source: Modern Coal Chemical Industry Date: 2020-12-03 Clicks: 14 On November 27, the first phase of Xinjiang Qinghua Group’s coal-to-gas project, with an annual production capacity of 1.375 billion Nm3, achieved a daily production volume of 3.93 million Nm3, setting a new record for daily output. The current production load remaining above 95% indicates that the project has entered a phase of high-load operation. Next, the production load will be increased gradually, moving toward stable full-capacity production. Earlier, as planned, the project began a full-system shutdown on October 3 to carry out the annual maintenance work for 2020. 926 maintenance tasks were completed in just 20 days, including the replacement of methanation catalysts, maintenance of various large-scale units, and equipment cleaning. The maintenance time has reached a record low. The production system was gradually brought online on October 23, and since natural gas met the required standards and was connected to the grid on October 29, the production capacity has been increasing steadily. Daily production volume reached a new annual high. In recent years, the company has been carrying out technical upgrades to its production systems on an annual basis. Through continuous technical innovation, process adjustments, and management of water and energy conservation, numerous bottlenecks associated with high-load production operations have been overcome. Since the system was put into operation, the various management departments and production workshops have worked together closely, keeping a close eye on the production process. Each unit has strictly monitored the process parameters and product quality, making precise operational adjustments to ensure a steady increase in load. Attention is paid to various types of balanced accounting during the production process. Under high-load operating conditions, for each one-percentage-point increase in load, an analysis is conducted of the raw material consumption as well as the performance of the production system, steam system, and water system, in order to prepare for further increases in load in the subsequent phase. Focus on basic management by starting with the small things and paying attention to details. Great efforts are made to save water and steam, with every employee carrying out their tasks meticulously and ensuring strict compliance with the operating procedures. During the process of increasing load, \"strictly ensuring safe production and maintaining environmental protection standards\" is regarded as the top priority. All these efforts have laid a solid foundation for stable operation under high loads.

The coal-to-gas production in Qinghua, Xinjiang, has been affected by CNPC’s temporary settlement price of 1.15 yuan per cubic meter, which is far lower than the company’s production costs. This has resulted in natural gas costs exceeding its selling price, forcing the company to operate with high costs and low revenues, leading to severe losses over the long term. A company’s basic production and operations are also affected by factors such as natural gas demand regulation and low market prices. Xinjiang Qinghua Group is actively seeking solutions to its difficulties in partnership with China Energy Group Co., Ltd. After comprehensive evaluations of the relevant process technologies and market prospects, it plans to adopt a technical upgrade approach that builds on the existing coal-to-gas project by integrating polyolefin production with it, in order to address the challenges faced by the company at present.
News from Qinghua in Xinjiang, China (Miao Xilong): On the afternoon of April 24, 2020, the signing ceremony for the \"Long-distance belt conveyor project for raw coal at Xinjiang Qinghua Energy Group Co., Ltd.\" was held at the Qinghua Industrial Park in Xinjiang. Jia Hongwei, Deputy County Party Secretary and Deputy County Head of Yining County, Fei Yong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Yining County Bureau of Commerce, Industry and Information Technology, Meng Lingjiang, General Manager of Xinjiang Qinghua Group, as well as other group leaders such as Deputy General Managers Luo Yinlong, Yang Lixian, and Li Xuguang, along with representatives from the design firms, supervision agencies, and project construction units, attended the ceremony. The signing ceremony was presided over by Deputy General Manager Li Xuguang. The signing ceremony began, and Vice General Manager Li Xuguang first introduced the key leaders of Yining County who were attending the ceremony, as well as the heads of the design firms, supervision agencies, and construction companies. He extended a warm welcome to all the leaders and guests present. Subsequently, General Manager Meng Lingjiang signed official agreements with Xiu Haiming, Senior Vice President of Fujian Longjing Environmental Protection Co., Ltd.; Guo Jianxin, Chairman and General Manager of Xinjiang Coal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd.; Qin Lu, Chief Engineer of Xinjiang Tianyang Construction Engineering Supervision Co., Ltd.; and Ru Huaqiang, General Manager of Yili Yueqiang Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. The long-distance belt conveyor project for raw coal is one of the key projects of Qinghua Energy Group Co., Ltd. this year. During the preliminary investigation, design, and feasibility studies for this project, it received strong support from various departments at all levels in Yining County, including the Land and Resources Bureau, Water Resources Bureau, Environmental Protection Bureau, Forestry Bureau, and the local authorities of Quluhaixiang. Given the tight schedule and challenging nature of this project, Deputy General Manager Li Xuguang has requested that the design and construction firms involved to further optimize the designs, organize work carefully, manage it scientifically, and ensure safe construction. It is also necessary to strictly adhere to current epidemic prevention and control regulations and requirements. While prioritizing safety, efforts must be made to speed up the project progress and improve its quality, with the goal of turning this long-distance belt conveyor project for transporting raw coal into a first-class, model project. At the same time, Deputy General Manager Li Xuguang emphasized that Qinghua Energy Co., Ltd. will also establish a dedicated project supervision and coordination team to provide effective coordination and support for the project, optimize the construction environment, and help address the practical difficulties and issues that arise during the project’s development, thereby creating favorable conditions for its progress and ensuring the smooth execution of the work. It is understood that this project is part of the coal-to-gas production facility; it starts at Coal Bin No. 3 in the southern production area of Yibei No. 2 open-pit coal mine, operated by Yili Qinghua Energy Development Co., Ltd., and ends at Belt No. 2 of the raw coal storage and transportation system for the Xinjiang Qinghua coal-to-gas project, located in the Yidong Industrial Park in Yining County. The total investment is estimated at 570 million yuan (569.96 million yuan), with a length of 23.87 kilometers and a pipe diameter of 500 mm. The rated coal transportation capacity is 8 million tons per year, while the maximum capacity is 10 million tons per year; the total power consumption is 18,220 kW. Once built and put into use, it can significantly reduce the costs associated with transporting raw coal, yielding substantial economic benefits ; It operates safely and is environmentally friendly. To effectively fight the four battles to safeguard blue skies, clean waters, green mountains, and fertile lands, we adhere to green development in order to lay a solid foundation for the continuous improvement of the local ecological environment.
