Guizhou’s New Panzhou Coal-Coking Circular Economy Project Author/Source: Coal Chemical Industry 114 Forum Date: 2020-12-10 Clicks: 6 The Panzhou Coal-Coking Circular Economy Project includes a coking capacity of 3.2 million tons per year, along with 3 million tons of coal washing facilities; it also involves the recovery and purification of 170,000 tons of coal tar and other chemical products. There are 25 MW and 30 MW dry quenching units for power generation, while the comprehensive utilization of coal gas serves to provide fuel as well as for the deep processing of methanol and ammonia. Each facility is equipped with corresponding safety and environmental protection systems, as well as auxiliary facilities such as concrete mixing plants. For fuel supply projects: two production lines for ceramic products, with dimensions of 800x800 and fully glazed, covering a total area of 24 million square meters; and two production lines for foamed ceramic insulation panels with dimensions of 2400×1200×(70-120), producing 280,000 cubic meters of such panels ； Two production lines for 100,000 tons of medium- to high-alumina balls. The further processing yields 150,000 tons of methanol and 50,000 tons of synthetic ammonia. The total land area of the project is 1,138.35 mu (758,903.8 m²), with a planned workforce of 897 people. The project is located in the energy, chemical, and metallurgical materials industry zone of Panbei Economic Development Zone in Guizhou. The construction scope includes a coal processing facility capable of handling 3 million tons of raw coal per year using heavy media separation, a facility for producing 3.2 million tons of dry quench coke per year, along with associated chemical recovery processes; as well as units for producing 150,000 tons of methanol and 50,000 tons of liquid ammonia per year. There will also be 25 MW + 30 MW power generation facilities for dry quenching coke, along with related supporting infrastructure and environmental protection measures. The project is implemented in two phases. In the first phase, 2×70-chamber coke ovens with a capacity of 1.7 million tons per year and a ceiling height of 7.0 meters will be built, along with coal washing facilities, as well as systems for the recovery and purification of chemical products, plus a 30MW power generation unit ； The second phase involves the construction of 2×65-hole, 6.25-meter diameter coke ovens with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons, as well as a 25MW power generation unit; the coal gas is utilized to produce methanol and synthetic ammonia. The project is constructed in phases, completed in phases, inspected in phases, and put into operation in phases. One of the construction phases is expected to come online in September 2023. Currently, the Guizhou Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment has accepted the environmental impact assessment documents for this project and placed them on public display, with the display period running from December 7, 2020, to December 18, 2020.
