On June 29th, an expert review meeting regarding the wastewater treatment and zero-wastewater-emission system for this facility was successfully held. Six experts in the field of coal chemical wastewater treatment from across the country, as well as relevant leaders and technical personnel from the General Institute’s Global Engineering Company and Yulin Chemical Company, attended the meeting. The meeting heard a presentation by Global Engineering on the process design scheme. The expert group raised questions and conducted discussions regarding the wastewater and zero-wastewater-discharge process schemes, and unanimously agreed that the process technology approach was feasible. They recommended further refining and optimizing the design input conditions as well as the selection and configuration of key process units in the next stage. This expert consultation meeting effectively optimized and improved the process routes for sewage and zero-sewage-discharge projects, laying a solid foundation for subsequent work. From June 24 to 28, a technical exchange meeting on the centrifugal compressor units for the 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol production facility of Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical was held at Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. Relevant leaders and technical personnel from Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Kako Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., and compressor suppliers attended this technical exchange meeting. The meeting featured in-depth technical discussions on compressor units, drives, and auxiliary equipment; the design and scope of supply for these units were determined, the technical requirements for them were further refined and optimized, and draft technical agreements were prepared with potential suppliers. This technical exchange effectively promoted the bidding process for the ethylene glycol units of the 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol project, laying the foundation for subsequent procurement and contract signing. The Demonstration Project on the Utilization of Coal at Different Grades to Produce New Chemical Materials by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. is currently the largest coal chemical project under construction in the world, and it is located in the Qingshui Industrial Park in Yulin City. The total area of the project is approximately 13 square kilometers, with a planned total investment of around 102.2 billion yuan. It is capable of processing 20.14 million tons of raw coal per year. The project includes 27 processing units along with the associated utility systems; these mainly involve the medium- and low-temperature pyrolysis of 15 million tons of coal, the production of 5.6 million tons of methanol, 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol, 2 million tons of MTO, as well as downstream products derived from these intermediates. In the **13th Five-Year Plan for Energy Development** released in December 2016, this project was listed as a key construction project for the deep processing of coal ； In the \"13th Five-Year Plan for Demonstrative Projects in the Advanced Processing of Coal\" released in February 2017, this project was once again listed as a new demonstration project for the differentiated utilization of low-grade coal. Phase 1 of the project involves an ethylene glycol production facility with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tons; it covers an area of approximately 4.4 million square meters. The estimated investment for this project is 26.5 billion yuan, and completion and commissioning are scheduled by the end of June 2021.
