Signing ceremony for the digitalization project of Inner Mongolia Guangju New Materials’ coal coking complex, which produces 600,000 tons of methanol and 200,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year – Author/Source: Huahua Network Coal Chemicals; Date: April 30, 2021; Clicks: 11. On the morning of April 29, the signing ceremony for the digitalization project of Inner Mongolia Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd.’s coal coking complex capable of producing 600,000 tons of methanol and 200,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year was held at the Guangna Group. Wang Quanji, vice chairman of Guangna Group; Niu Jingchao, another vice chairman; Wang Yan, president’s secretary; Li Ji, chairman of Zhonghua Chem Siding Coking (Shanxi) Engineering Technology Co., Ltd.; Cui Changqing, general manager; Wang Wei, deputy chief engineer; Wang Jianzhong, general manager of Guangju New Materials; and Zhang Xuefei, general manager of Jiangsu Hengwang Digital Technology, all attended this signing ceremony. It is reported that this digital delivery project resulting from the tripartite collaboration applies the digital twin technology to coking plants, which holds pioneering significance for the digital transformation of coal-based coking industries in China. The digital twin system is a theoretically sound and versatile technical framework that can be applied in various fields; it is currently widely used in areas such as product design, product manufacturing, medical analysis, and engineering construction. The field where it is most widely applied domestically is engineering construction, while the area that receives the most attention and has the most active research is intelligent manufacturing. Driven by the digital transformation on the consumer side of the Internet, the digital transformation on the supply side is also accelerating, and the consumer Internet is bound to evolve into the industrial Internet. In such an environment, coal coking enterprises leverage their industrial advantages to vigorously promote digital transformation in industry. They seize the opportunities brought about by digital transformation on the supply side, embrace the new wave of technological and industrial changes, and use technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things to reduce costs and improve efficiency. By boldly pursuing digital transformation, they forge a unique path for industrial digital transformation, gradually turning the disadvantages they once had at the back end of development into advantages at the forefront of it. The 5 million tons per year coking and comprehensive utilization project of coke oven gas by Inner Mongolia Guangna Coal Industry Group and Inner Mongolia Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd. is expected to require a total investment of 13.268 billion yuan; it will enable the production of 5 million tons per year of coal-based coke, along with 600,000 tons per year of methanol, 200,000 tons per year of liquid ammonia, and 600,000 tons per year of olefins from methanol. The main components of this project include a coke oven system designed with 4 sets of 2×55 chambers, coke ovens with a height of 6.25 meters or more, along with supporting facilities for product recovery and equipment for dry quenching of coke. It also involves the construction of a facility for producing methanol from 600,000 tons per year of coke oven gas, as well as a facility for producing liquid ammonia in quantities of 200,000 tons per year. In addition, there will be combined chemical plants for converting methanol into ethylene and propylene, as well as plants for producing polyethylene and polypropylene. There will also be facilities for producing 350,000 tons per year of polyethylene and 350,000 tons per year of polypropylene. It is expected that one set of coke ovens will come online by the end of 2022. On February 24, 2021, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 5 million tons per year coal coking integrated production project of Inner Mongolia Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd., which is part of Inner Mongolia Guangna Coal Industry Group, was held in the Low-Carbon Industrial Park of Wuhai Economic Development Zone
