Zhao Yong, the group company’s top expert, and Liu Gang, the company’s deputy general manager, attended. Representatives from Bijie City, Zhijin County**, the Southwest Electric Power Design Institute, Ningbo Engineering Company, and Guizhou Energy Chemical Industry participated. The experts present reviewed and discussed the application report for the PGA project power station of Guizhou Energy Chemical Company, and formulated review comments on the application documents for the power station project. Li Song, deputy director of the Bijie Development and Reform Commission, requested that once the revised report is submitted to the commission, the relevant departments at the city and county levels should cooperate fully to complete the administrative procedures as soon as possible. Liu Gang demanded that all units and departments fully recognize the importance and urgency of completing the procedures for the power station project, attach great importance to it, implement each review recommendation one by one, and expedite the approval process for this project in order to create the conditions necessary for the PGA project to start construction as soon as possible. On July 6, the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of Sinopec’s 500,000 tons per year polyglycolic acid (PGA) production project in Guizhou was held in Zhijin County, Bijie City. Sinopec’s 500,000 tons per year polylactic acid project is a model initiative by Sinopec to advance cutting-edge coal chemical technologies toward industrial application, and it serves as a landmark project for Guizhou Province in achieving new forms of industrialization and rural revitalization. The project is located in Zhijin County, Bijie City, which is situated in the upper reaches of the Wujiang River and boasts abundant mineral resources. Sinopec and Guizhou Province have made full use of their respective strengths to deepen their strategic cooperation, and on November 25, 2020, they signed a \"Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Comprehensively Promoting High-Quality Development.\" The total investment amounts to approximately 23 billion yuan, of which the investment for the first phase is about 11 billion yuan. This phase will enable an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of polyglycolic acid, with completion expected in 2024 ； The annual sales revenue of the product is expected to reach 3.15 billion yuan. Phase 2 will bring the capacity for polyglycolic acid to 300,000 tons per year, with completion expected in 2026. The project includes a gas gasification unit, a gas cryogenic separation unit, coupling and hydrogenation units, and a polyglycolic acid production unit; it is also equipped with a cogeneration unit and an air separation unit.
