I. Project Overview
Project Name: Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group Co., Ltd.’s 500,000 tons/year Coal-to-Olefins Project
Project Location: Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, Yinchuan, Ningxia – Modern Coal Chemical Industry Demonstration Zone of Ningdong Base – Area A of Linhe Comprehensive Industrial Park
Construction Content: Using coal as raw material, methanol is produced through pressurized gasification of pulverized coal, shift reaction, and purification, resulting in 1.5 million tons/year of MTO-grade methanol. This methanol is then processed via MTO units and olefin separation to produce 500,000 tons/year of polymer-grade ethylene and propylene. The polymer-grade ethylene and propylene, along with 50,000 tons/year of vinyl acetate purchased externally, are fed into EVA polymerization and propylene polymerization units to produce 550,000 tons/year of polyolefin products. By-products include sulfur, mixed C4, C5+, propane, etc. Additionally, 3 high-temperature and high-pressure circulating fluidized bed boilers (2 in operation and 1 as backup) along with other utility systems will be constructed.
