The topping out of Chimney No. 1 for Xuyang Sino-NG Energy Co., Ltd.’s 3.6 million tons/year coking and hydrogen production integrated project was completed. On October 16, Chimney No. 1 of this project was successfully completed, paving the way for the ignition and heating up of Cokers No. 3 and No. 4 and providing a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the entire project. The total height of the main body of chimney 1# is 165 meters. Its primary function is to utilize the pressure difference between the inside and outside to generate suction for heating the coke oven and ensuring normal production, thereby allowing smoke to be discharged smoothly. On May 10, the workers for Tower No. 1 began work. The project team mobilized all its technical resources, and after more than 150 days of hard work, overcoming various challenges such as high temperatures and sandstorms, it managed to meet the owner’s deadline on October 16. During the construction process, taking into account the challenges such as the complex construction techniques, large workload, intricate structure, and the need for continuous work at heights associated with Tower No. 1, the project team provided safety training to the construction workers and organized safety briefings. Regular inspections as well as various specialized checks were carried out on construction elevators, safety facilities on the platforms, and fire prevention measures. Strict control was exercised over safety, quality, and progress to ensure that the construction of the tower was completed successfully and to a high standard, in accordance with the plan. Upon completion, Chimney No. 1 has a straight and upright appearance with graceful curves; its concrete has a uniform color. Against the backdrop of blue skies and white clouds, it becomes a beautiful sight at the construction site.
