On February 15, the management committee of Yulin High-Tech Zone in Shaanxi Province held discussions with Shaanxi Times Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. and Shandong Energy Group Co., Ltd. regarding the establishment of a key laboratory for coal liquefaction and coal chemical industries in Yulin as a demonstration site. It also held talks with Air Products and Chemicals Inc. (China) and Gaolu Air Products (Shanghai) Energy Technology Co., Ltd. concerning the development of a public utility gas island project. The Key Laboratory of Coal Liquefaction and Coal Chemical Engineering aims to make full use of its advantages in research, technology, and talent. It focuses on meeting the needs of the high-value and refined development of the chemical industry in the high-tech zone, by establishing integrated channels for industry, academia, and research. The laboratory emphasizes applied research, provides commissioned experimental services to enterprises, and offers pilot-scale production facilities; it is dedicated to the development of advanced chemical and new material technologies as well as to the transformation of technical achievements. It functions as a comprehensive research and development center and a hub for advanced technology development for the entire energy and chemical industry. Through efforts over 5–10 years, it strives to become a national-level engineering technology center, thereby helping the energy and chemical industry in the high-tech zone to transform from a traditional resource-based industry into one that is more advanced, refined, and specialized. Air Products develops, designs, builds, owns, and operates some of the world’s largest industrial gas projects, including gasification projects that convert abundant natural resources into syngas in a sustainable manner to produce high-value electricity, fuels, and chemicals. Air Products plans to invest in the construction and operation of a green, low-carbon, circular demonstration integrated industrial gas island project in Yulin High-Tech Zone. The methane-carbon dioxide dry reforming technology provided by Gao Lu Air is utilized to convert the carbon dioxide emitted by the enterprises in the park into syngas, which is supplied to these enterprises along with hydrogen and carbon monoxide; at the same time, various industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, and compressed air are also provided.
