Progress on the Comprehensive Utilization Project of Coke Oven Gas at Jiyuan Coal Coking Co., Ltd. in Etoke Banner / Author/Source: Gasification World / Date: 11-08-2021 / Clicks: 20 On November 5, the construction of the granulation tower for the plant capable of producing 600,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 400,000 tons of urea per year, as part of the comprehensive utilization project of coke oven gas at Jiyuan Coal Coking Co., Ltd. in Etoke Banner, was completed. This project was carried out by the fourth branch of Shiliu Hua Jian. The elevator shaft of this granulation tower is 104.7 meters high, the silo section is 99.4 meters high, and the inner diameter of the silo is 26 meters. The high-tower granulation technology is the most advanced technique in today’s fertilizer manufacturing industry; it simplifies the production process, reduces energy consumption, and enables manufacturers to achieve greater profit margins. Project Overview: The scales of the various products produced by the Coking Gas Comprehensive Utilization Project of Etoke Banner Jianyuan Coal Coking Co., Ltd. are as follows: 400,000 tons per year of LNG, 600,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia, 400,000 tons per year of urea, and 2 million tons per year of NPK compound fertilizer. The project plans to build a atmospheric pressure gasification unit capable of producing 360,000 m3/h of low-cost coal gas. This gas will be used to replace the 116,000 m3/h of coke oven gas required for the coking operations at Jiyuan Coal Coking Company in Etoke Banner, as well as for the comprehensive utilization projects related to coal coking at the same company (including furnaces No. 5 and No. 6 and their associated facilities). All 228,000 m3/h of coke oven gas produced by these furnaces will be utilized comprehensively, with an additional 32,000 m3/h of coke oven gas being purchased from nearby coking plants. In total, therefore, 260,000 m3/h of coke oven gas will be available. Taking advantage of the high methane and hydrogen content in coke oven gas, this gas is subjected to shift reaction, desulfurization and decarburization, as well as deep cryogenic separation to produce LNG; part of the hydrogen-rich gas obtained from this LNG process is washed with liquid nitrogen before being used for ammonia synthesis ; Another portion is sent to the PSA hydrogen production unit for hydrogen purification. Synthesis of urea from liquid ammonia and carbon dioxide ; NPK compound fertilizer is produced using urea, monoammonium phosphate, potassium sulfate, and ammonium sulfate as raw materials, through a drum granulation process.
