The methanol unit of Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group Co., Ltd.’s project for producing 600,000 tons per year of olefins through coke gasification, as well as the high-salinity wastewater zero-discharge system, were both successful in producing salt and nitrate on July 31, 2020, and August 31, 2020, respectively. With the joint efforts of the leaders at all levels of Shanghai Jingyu Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. and the project team, this project overcame the impacts of the pandemic, tackled technical challenges, strictly controlled project quality, and ensured that all construction work was completed within one year, with successful commissioning upon first trial operation. This project is capable of handling a total flow rate of 150 m3/h of wastewater from four sources: purified wastewater, recycled methanol process water, purified olefin process water, and wastewater from the neutralization tank. The entire treatment process makes use of core technologies independently developed by Shanghai Jingyu Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd.; it involves a pretreatment system, a chemical dosing system, a membrane concentration system, a nitration-evaporation-crystallization system, a sodium chloride crystallization system, a mixed salt recovery system, and a miscellaneous salts drying system. Additionally, facilities such as sludge storage areas, salt storage areas, and auxiliary rooms are provided, enabling zero discharge in the comprehensive treatment of multiple types of wastewater generated in the coal chemical industry.
