Recently, two methanol-rich hydraulic turbine generator sets from the Series I low-temperature methanol washing unit in Future Energy Company’s purification workshop were successfully connected to the power grid. It is estimated that once the new turbine generators are put into use, they will be able to supply 10,960 kilowatt-hours of electricity to the power grid of the purification unit per day, thereby saving the company over 1.9 million yuan in costs related to purchasing electricity from external sources each year. The workshop actively encouraged technical staff to start from the actual conditions of their positions and to identify areas where improvements could be made by examining the details of the production system. Small modifications were carried out regarding the recovery of hydraulic pressure differences in the methanol scrubbers; after evaluating the situation in light of actual production needs, it was decided to add carbon-rich methanol turbine generators and sulfur-rich methanol turbine generators after the Series I methanol scrubbers, in order to recover the hydraulic pressure differences present in the system. The project commenced construction in September 2021. During the equipment commissioning phase, this workshop carried out comprehensive inspections in collaboration with various specialized departments, carefully identifying and addressing any deficiencies. In accordance with the requirements of the unit startup plan, it completed all the necessary commissioning tasks prior to the unit’s operation, ensuring the smooth connection of the methanol-rich hydraulic generator set to the power grid.
