Review Meeting for the Preliminary Design of the Coking Upgrade Project at Shanxi Donghui New Energy Held Author/Source: Huahua Network – Coal Chemical Industry Date: 2022-01-14 Clicks: 10 On January 7, a review meeting for the preliminary design of the projects related to flue gas desulfurization, denitrification, and waste heat recovery for Shanxi Donghui New Energy Co., Ltd.’s 1.28 million tons per year coking upgrade project was held at Taiyuan Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd. At the preliminary design review meeting, the participants conducted in-depth and detailed discussions and reviews on key aspects such as the project’s design documents, process flow, and overall layout, and ultimately prepared a meeting minutes. Representatives from Shanxi Donghui New Energy Co., Ltd., Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Aierwot Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. attended the meeting. For this project, one set of flue gas desulfurization and denitration purification equipment has been designed, corresponding to one coke oven with an annual production capacity of 1.28 million tons. The process flow is as follows: “Exit of underground flue → Gas extraction flue → Pre-mounted waste heat recovery system → SDS dry desulfurization → Bag filter → SCR denitration unit → Post-mounted waste heat recovery system → New induced draft fan → Emission through the coke oven’s associated chimney”. The designed flue gas treatment capacity for this project is 300,000 Nm3/h, of which 250,000 Nm3/h comes from coke ovens, and 50,000 Nm3/h from the flue gas emitted during dry quenching of coke. The temperature of the mixed flue gas ranges from 240 to 280°C; the SO2 concentration is ≤550 mg/Nm3, the NOX concentration is ≤625 mg/Nm3, and the dust concentration is ≤50 mg/Nm3. Once this project is put into operation, the emission concentrations in the flue gas will be ≤20 mg/Nm3 for S02, ≤100 mg/Nm3 for NOX, ≤10 mg/Nm3 for particulate matter, and ≤10 ppm for ammonia escape; these emission levels meet the requirements of **ultra-low emission standards. Shanxi Donghui New Energy Co., Ltd. is carrying out an upgrade project for its coking operation, with a capacity of 1.28 million tons per year and carbonization chamber heights of 625 meters. The project is located in Sanquan Town, Fenyang City, Shanxi Province, and the total investment amount is 1,779,668,200 yuan. The scope of the construction work includes demolishing the existing coking production line with a capacity of 1.6 million tons per year (comprising 4 x 4.3m side-loading coke ovens). Instead, a set of 2×55-chamber coke ovens will be installed, with carbonization chamber heights of 6.25 meters and widths of 550 mm; these ovens feature dual flues, waste gas recycling systems, and are designed to be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. They will be capable of producing 1.279 million tons of coke per year, while also generating 65,918 Nm3/h of coke oven gas. Dry quenching will be used for extinguishing the coke in these ovens, with wet quenching as a backup option. The coke oven gas will be supplied to the existing methanol production facility.
