On March 15, thanks to the joint efforts of the staff in the synthesis workshop of Fengxi Operations, the methanol separator with a diameter of 2.5 meters, a height of 9.05 meters, a weight of 28 tons, and a transfer distance of 45 meters was successfully lifted into place in one operation. This effort laid a solid foundation for the timely maintenance of the methanol system equipment in May, ensuring the system’s safe operation throughout the summer and enabling stable and high-level production. The lifting operation began at 11 a.m., with one large crane equipped with a 80-ton counterweight and another equipped with a 20-ton counterweight being used; it took 5 hours to level the foundation, adjust any discrepancies, and install everything in one go. Reportedly, the original 1.5-meter-diameter methanol separator in the synthesis system was too small; this restricted the “internal circulation” of the product gas and resulted in poor separation of alcohol and water, thereby affecting the quality of the final product. This methanol separator serves as a supplement to the system’s existing separator; it will be installed in parallel to facilitate system switching and ensure sufficient redundancy for safe production, thus laying a solid foundation for stable and high-level production in the second quarter.
