On June 12, 2020, a meeting to discuss the feasibility of this process was held at the Hami Hotel by Yiwu Jiangna New Materials Co., Ltd. for its 550 project. He Peng, deputy director of the Hami Development and Reform Commission, Yang Yong, deputy director of the Hami Industry and Information Technology Bureau, as well as Ma Junping and Li Yuxiao, deputy general managers of Yiwu Jiangna New Materials Co., Ltd., attended the meeting; Chen Qiang, founder and CEO of Meihua Ke, was invited to participate as well. The conference also specifically invited nearly 60 representatives from over 20 well-known domestic and international research institutions and catalysts and equipment manufacturers, including Sinopec Dalian Research Institute, Shanghai Junming (Shanghai Xinyou), Coal Science Research Institute, Topsoe, Sichuan Tiancai, Southwest Research Institute, Sichuan Yaxi, Shanghai Hetu, Chengdu Tianlan, Sichuan Dakota, Chengdu West China, Beijing Hengtai, Liaoning CIMC, Xinjiang Lanshi Heavy Equipment, Shanggu Power, and 11th Chemical Construction Corporation. The meeting was held in the form of group discussions, during which renowned experts from the coal chemical industry were invited to conduct a systematic analysis and evaluation of the LNG production via the co-generation of hydrogen from waste gas, as well as the coal tar hydrogenation process options proposed by various organizations, thereby forming expert opinions. Zhang Xiaojing, deputy chief engineer of the Coal Chemicals Division at the former China Coal Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., spoke highly of this conference. After the meeting, Ma Junping, deputy general manager of Yiwu Jiangna New Materials Co., Ltd., and Chen Qiang, CEO of Beijing Coal Chemical Customer Information Technology Co., Ltd., signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. Leveraging the advantages of its platform, Meihua Ke will provide strong support for the 550 project in areas such as project construction, information and technical consulting, as well as the establishment and training of expert teams and talent pools. As a **model project for the deep processing of coal, the 550 Project of Yiwu Jiangna New Materials selected top domestic design firms from the outset to ensure planning at a high level and design of excellent quality. The project construction is carried out by professional companies with extensive experience in scientific construction methods, with the goal of turning the Yiwu Jiangna New Materials 550 project into a model project in the field of coal chemical industry. Construction of the project began on March 30, focusing on the development of Phase 1; it is planned to start trial operations of the coal upgrading pyrolysis unit by the end of October 2020. The successful holding of the conference provided important guidance for selecting the process routes for producing hydrogen from waste gas, as well as for LNG production and coal tar hydrogenation, in the 550 project of Yiwu Jiangna New Materials. It also laid a solid theoretical foundation and scientific basis for accelerating the design and construction of the hydrogen production facilities from waste gas and coal tar hydrogenation units within this project. Since its establishment, Yiwu Jiangna New Materials Co., Ltd. has gradually grown into a large-scale comprehensive energy enterprise group whose main activities include coal mining, advanced coal processing, waste gas power generation, and digital smart energy management. It has achieved a shift from upstream coal mining to the production of high-value fine chemical products at the downstream stage, thereby extending its industrial chain. In the future, Yiwu Jiangna New Materials will, guided by the \"Guiding Principles for Advancing the Development of the Western Region in the New Era to Create a New Pattern,\" and within the context of optimizing the energy structure, promote clean coal production and intelligent, efficient mining methods. It will also actively pursue the graded and quality-based utilization of coal, and steadily carry out pilot projects for upgrading processes such as coal tar hydrogenation, producing LNG from waste gas, as well as the production of methanol and methyl acetate. Yiwu Jiangna New Materials Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in the production and sales of high-performance composite materials, as well as in the comprehensive utilization of mineral resources, along with providing related technical services. Leveraging the resource, geographical location, and transportation advantages of its own Xingsheng Open-Pit Coal Mine owned by Xinjiang Jianna Mining Co., Ltd., and in line with the industrial development strategy of \"coal – carbon – oil – gas – electricity – heat – chemicals,\" the company plans to invest 12 billion yuan to build an integrated project for the clean, efficient, and comprehensive processing of low-grade coal at a capacity of 5.5 million tons per year. The project is in line with **industrial policies**; it is a key project for the deep processing of coal under the \"14th Five-Year Plan\" in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Hami City, and it is also one of the important projects included in the plan for the new comprehensive energy base in northern Hami. The project has been included in the list of key energy projects to be launched in the last two years of the 13th Five-Year Plan, as part of the **13th Five-Year Plan for Demonstrating Advanced Coal Processing Industries**.
