It was recently reported that the purification system for the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base project successfully passed the acceptance review, achieving mechanical completion as scheduled. At the same time, the existing phase of the project will be optimized and upgraded to build a 250,000-ton/year LDPE/EVA chain extension and enhancement facility along with supporting infrastructure. China Coal Shaanxi Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. is located in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Coal Group Corporation. The company was registered in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province in April 2010; its registered capital amounts to 11.077 billion yuan, while its total assets amount to 27.986 billion yuan. The Chemical Division of China Coal Shaanxi Company is located in Yuheng Industrial Park, Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. The first phase of this facility has an annual production capacity of 2.05 million tons of methanol and 600,000 tons of polyolefins, along with the necessary supporting infrastructure; it was put into operation in July 2014. The preliminary investment estimate for the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base project is 23.888 billion yuan. The main construction components include 2.2 million tons per year of methanol and 900,000 tons per year of polyolefins; at the same time, the existing first-phase coal chemical plant will be optimized and upgraded, with the construction of a project for the production of 250,000 tons per year of LDPE/EVA through chain extension and addition, along with related facilities. The project uses Dahaize coal as raw material and employs technologies such as AP (GE) water-coal slurry semi-boiler gasification technology and third-generation methanol-to-olefins technology to build 1 EVA unit and 3 polyolefin units. The main facilities of the project include air separation, gasification, purification, sulfur recovery, methanol synthesis, MTO, olefin separation, 3 polyolefin units, and 1 EVA unit. Commissioning and trial operation are expected by mid-2026. Once the project is put into operation, it will effectively promote local economic and social development as well as the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure; during peak periods, it can create employment opportunities for tens of thousands of people.
