Thanks to careful planning, at 3 p.m. on July 28, the PP production facility of Dolun Company managed to produce high-quality polypropylene of the new grade S2040, marking a significant achievement in the pilot production of this type of polypropylene. S2040 is a high melt index spinning material that is primarily used as a raw material for medical products such as masks and protective clothing, offering broad market prospects. This product is a polypropylene material with a melt index of 40±2 g/10min, produced by a degradation method based on the stable production of the original L5E89 product. In the production of this product, it is difficult to control the reaction temperature, and stricter requirements are placed on the operation control of the extruder. To ensure the smooth progress of the trial production, the company organized everything meticulously, carefully analyzed the details of the production switchover plan as well as various risks related to production disruptions, thoroughly examined each step in the transition process, and developed specific contingency plans to guarantee the success of the trial production. At 9 a.m. on July 28, the conversion to new production began officially. At 9:20, the mixing agent began to be switched. After running steadily for half an hour, the parameter values began to be adjusted gradually. The monitoring personnel carefully adjust and optimize the operations, keeping a close eye on parameters such as the temperature of the extruder die, the speed of the cutting knives, and the temperature of the water used for granulation, with a particular focus on ensuring the smooth operation of the extruder. At 15:00, after 5 hours of adjustment and transition, high-quality products with a melt index of 39 g/10 min were produced, achieving a successful shift to the production of such products. The successful transition to producing new grades of polypropylene with high melt index has boosted Dorun Company’s confidence in developing new products in the future, as well as enhanced the competitiveness of its products in the market.
