Acidic water refers to the acidic components that have been absorbed by water or aqueous solutions during this process; of course, an alkaline medium is more efficient at absorbing these acidic components. Acidic water does not mean that this medium must be acidic. After acidic water is stripped with steam, the acidic components are removed and sent back to the device to absorb more acidic components; how can it then come into contact with the catalyst used for hydrogen production? The catalyst for hydrogen production is located in the cracking section (for producing hydrogen from light hydrocarbons or methanol), while acidic water is generated in the water washing section following the cracking gas – do the materials from these two sections have sufficient opportunity to come into contact? It would be best for the poster to take a close look at their own hydrogen production process diagram, to find out in which stage the catalyst is used and in which stage acidic water is generated
Is the pH of acidic water before or after stripping? Additionally, the main impacts on the conversion catalyst are chlorine, salts, etc. from steam treatment! If the purified water is reused as deoxygenated water, pH should have little impact on the catalyst’s activity!
Their purified water should be recycled to the deaerator, from where steam is generated for distribution!
The presence of acidity should indicate the presence of bicarbonate ions, right?
