Could some expert please talk about the current specific consumption and cost of producing hydrogen from methanol?
The specific consumption depends on the scale, the process flow, and the PSA adsorption configuration; generally, the cost of producing hydrogen from methanol is 1,500–1,900 Nm3 of hydrogen per ton of methanol used
What about purity? 99.999%~~Is it possible to achieve a specific consumption of 0.53 kg/Nm3? ~~
Reaching a specific consumption level of 0.53 is not impossible; however, the process and PSA procedures may be quite complicated. The purity is definitely over 99.99%.

What processes are being used for your methanol production and PSA? How large is it? How many columns should be used for PSA, and what is the operating mode of these columns? Was vacuuming done? Knowing these basically means you know the methanol consumption per unit
Mine has a capacity of 500 Nm3/h and a pressure of 5 N; the current methanol consumption is 0.56, using a five-column two-average process, with a yield of over 83%~~
It’s performing well; to be honest, there’s no need to be too concerned about energy consumption for a 500m3 model
The key is this upward trend in methanol prices~~ hehe~~
Methanol prices are unlikely to fall; there may even be an upward trend, but it won’t be significant. Energy savings and consumption reduction don’t rely on methanol in this regard
