For hydrotreating residue in a boiling bed on such a scale, it seems that Zhenhai in China has one installation of this kind, while no others exist; as a result, there are very few people with experience in this area.

I understand that generally, when starting at 1.4, the speed of the boiling pump decreases to its minimum, which causes the height of the catalyst bed to drop to a safe level; at this point, pressure relief will not cause the catalyst to be carried away, and there is still enough space above for the catalyst to separate

In China, there is one boiling bed unit in Zhenhai, while another is still under construction by CAS.
