During today’s on-site inspection, I took a closer look at the spring supports and found that it’s unclear how to maintain them. Apart from checking for any deformation, I don’t know what else needs to be done. Does anyone with experience have any advice?
The hanger is primarily used to absorb the expansion of the pipeline, and to check whether its displacement under operating loads is in line with the design specifications, as well as to detect any issues such as misalignment or jamming. Before putting it into use, check whether the positioning pin has been removed – a similar oversight occurred while driving before; P
Check whether the springs and bolts are broken, and whether the springs have reached their limit position. We have a spring bracket that tilted after work started due to pipeline displacement
Before material is fed into the pipeline, remove the clip and note down the scale reading of the spring bracket; make a mark. After the material starts to flow in, check the scale reading again – if the difference between the two readings is more than 15%, it indicates that the spring bracket is not up to standard
What should be done if there is misalignment or jamming?
Readjust the position of the hanging bracket to keep it vertical. If it exceeds the actual displacement, there may be an issue with the selected working load of the spring, and it will need to be recalculated
