Foaming may be caused by oil in the circulating hydrogen, an increase in the pressure of the buffer tank ahead, or a decrease in flow rate, which increases the residence time. Either there are many impurities in the lean liquid; in that case, an antifoaming agent can be added or the liquid can be purified.
The reasons for foaming may include the presence of hydrocarbons in the amine solution; increasing the temperature of the amine solution fed into the tower appropriately is necessary, with this temperature not being lower than that of the recycled hydrogen. 2. There are many impurities; improve filtration and online cleaning is possible. 3. Slightly increase the liquid level in the desulfurization tower. 4. Add an antifoaming agent.
1. Is there a temperature difference between the temperature of the lean liquid entering the tower and the temperature of the recycled hydrogen entering the tower? Try keeping it at 5°C. 2. Control the liquid level in the cold high-pressure section and the temperature of the circulating hydrogen to enhance oil removal.
Cyclic hydrogen desulfurization towers generally require regular oil skimming operations; over time, the amine solution containing oil can easily become foamy.
