My unit is a heavy gasoline desulfurization tower with bottom heating. The process flow is as follows: the condensate from the recycle hydrogen knock-out drum, together with the feedstock, enters the heavy gasoline desulfurization tower through a control valve. Abnormal phenomenon: The opening of the condensate control valve in the circulating hydrogen dew point removal tank was too large, which may have caused some gas to enter the heavy gasoline hydrogen sulfide removal tower. The temperatures of the second and sixth trays in the tower dropped abnormally, with the temperature of the second tray being about 10°C lower than normal, and that of the sixth tray being about 30°C lower than normal. I’d like to ask all the experts: what’s the reason for this? How should one handle such a situation? Thank you
Where is the feed to the desulfurization tower near which tray? Was there any suspicion that the tray had been blown over?
At the second level, after increasing the temperature at the top of the tower, the temperature at the sixth level returned to normal rapidly within two hours; during this rapid recovery, the temperature at the top of the tower increased quickly as well. I don’t know the reason right now
Does the reflux tank have a water trap? Is the return fluid carrying water? P;P;P
Hydrogen entered the tower, causing an excessive gas load inside it, which led to local flooding of the tower.
