After the maintenance was completed this year, drainage was carried out from the various low points of the high-pressure heat exchanger during the catalyst drying process, and the drainage from these low points proceeded normally, as the pressure wasn’t high anyway. During the drainage process, there wasn’t much left for anyone, so it was decided to stop catalyst drying the next day. As a result, when I went to work the next morning, the compressor had already stopped. The people on site were all busy cleaning up, as it was a leadership inspection. During the on-site inspection, it was found that several drain valves located around the high-pressure heat exchanger were not releasing any gas. The area was then tapped with a wrench nearby, and a dull sound was heard. Each of the pipes in the vicinity was tapped as well, and half of them produced the same sound. Something seemed wrong, so when the lowest-point drain valve was opened, neither water nor gas flowed out. I asked the people around, and they said that last night, when they saw there was no water, they turned off all the drain valves; now the drains are blocked. The dull sound in the pipeline is the sound of water that hasn’t been drained in time. Since the drain locations at the high-pressure heat exchangers are quite low and there are elbows that make cleaning difficult, a soft nozzle from a heat exchanger cleaning vehicle was used to clear them. It is indeed water coming in slowly, tube by tube. The problem was solved accordingly.
