The normal inspection period for safety valves is once a year; they are put into use after passing the inspection. At the time of deployment, the inspection seals on the safety valves must be in compliance, and the manual valves before and after the safety valves should be opened and sealed with seals. For pressure vessels equipped with two safety valves (such as the high-pressure and low-pressure separators in hydrogenation units), how are these safety valves put into use? In accordance with **relevant standards and regulations, for pressure vessels equipped with two safety valves, the following steps must be followed when putting them into use: 1. Check whether the safety valves and their accessories are complete and meet the specified requirements; any abnormalities should be reported promptly; 2. Check whether the inspection seal on the safety valve is intact, and verify that the inspection records are satisfactory ; 3. Open the manual valves before and after the safety valve, and check whether the valves open properly, with no sticking or air leakage ; 4. Close the manual valve before the safety valve, and lock it with a seal ; 5. Open the manual valve behind the safety valve, and adjust and calibrate the safety valve to ensure that its operating pressure remains within the specified range ; 6. Close the manual valve after shutting off the safety valve, and lock it with a seal ; 7. Record information such as the model, specifications, and operating pressure of the safety valve, and maintain proper records of its installation and related documentation. In practical operations, it is also necessary to follow specific safety management systems and operating procedures strictly. At the same time, daily maintenance and regular inspections of safety valves are also very important, as they can effectively ensure the effectiveness and safety performance of these valves. -

For pressure vessels equipped with two safety valves, there are currently two approaches: (1) Keep the manual valves in front of and behind the active safety valve fully open and seal them with lead plombs; keep the manual valve in front of the standby safety valve closed, while keeping the manual valve behind it fully open, and seal it with lead plombs as well; (2) Both safety valves are in service; the upstream and downstream manual valves are fully open and sealed with lead seals.
According to CNPC’s regulations, both units must be in operation at the same time and sealed with lead seals. Remove it during verification
