According to data from the Tianyancha app, Sinopec (600028) has newly obtained an invention patent grant. The title of the patent is “A Method for Hydrogen Production Using Oxygen-Permeable Membranes and Its Applications”; the patent application number is CN202310627416.5, and the grant date is October 31, 2025. Patent Abstract: The present invention belongs to the field of hydrogen production technology, and specifically relates to a method for producing hydrogen using an oxygen-permeable membrane as well as its applications. The method comprises the following steps: (1) Introducing water vapor into the second oxygen-permeable membrane reactor R2 to generate high-temperature reaction gas 1 ； (2) The remaining hydrogen-containing gas on the water vapor side of the second oxygen-permeable membrane reactor R2, together with the high-temperature reaction gas, is introduced into the first oxygen-permeable membrane reactor R1 ； (3) Water vapor is introduced into the first oxygen-permeable membrane reactor R1; oxygen migrates through the oxygen-permeable membrane to the oxygen side and reacts with the mixed gas to produce high-temperature reaction gas 2 ； (4) A portion of the high-temperature reaction gas is introduced as a circulating gas into the second oxygen-permeable membrane reactor R2 and mixed with the fuel ； (5) The remaining hydrogen-rich gas on the water vapor side of the first oxygen-permeable membrane reactor R1 is introduced into the first condenser C1 to obtain high-purity hydrogen. This invention reduces energy consumption while increasing the rate, enabling the convenient, efficient, and economical production of hydrogen. Since the beginning of this year, Sinopec has obtained 3,632 new patent approvals, a 12.02% decrease compared to the same period last year. Based on the company’s financial figures for the first half of 2025, the company invested 6.186 billion yuan in research and development during this period, representing a 3.05% increase compared to the previous year.
