According to Sinochem New Network, on December 5, the **Energy Administration issued a announcement announcing the hydrogen energy pilot projects in the energy sector (first batch); a total of 41 project-based pilots and 9 regional pilots were included in this list. It is understood that the 41 pilot projects include the integrated wind and solar hydrogen production for green ammonia synthesis along with hydrogen energy applications in Ejin Horo Banner, Inner Mongolia; the integrated wind and solar hydrogen production project in Wushen Banner, Inner Mongolia; the integrated wind power and biomass-based green methanol production project in Taonan City, Jilin; the first phase of the renewable hydrogen-based carbon reduction project in Ningdong, Ningxia; the hydrogen purification project in Huaqin New Energy Industrial Park in Yulin, Shaanxi; the research, development, and application of equipment for liquid hydrogen production, storage, refueling, and transportation in Nanchong, Sichuan; and the green hydrogen project carried out by Sinopec in Xinjiang. These projects cover 11 different areas of exploration, including large-scale hydrogen production and integration, advanced flexible off-grid hydrogen production, comprehensive development of clean and low-carbon hydrogen energy, large-scale long-distance hydrogen transportation, high-density and diversified storage methods, green alternatives to oil and gas produced from refining or coal, hydrogen-ammonia fuel for power generation, long-term hydrogen storage solutions, comprehensive applications in the energy sector, hydrogen energy demonstration platforms, and the low-carbon transformation driven by hydrogen energy. The 9 regional pilot areas include Songyuan, Baicheng, and Changchun in Jilin; Ningdong in Ningxia; Zhangjiakou, Chengde, and Tangshan in Hebei; Baotou in Inner Mongolia; the Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guangdong; Binhai in Jiangsu; Jinan in Shandong; Wuhan in Hubei; and Panxi in Sichuan. These pilots cover three areas of focus: large-scale production of hydrogen from new energy sources, development across the entire value chain, and technological innovation as well as the expansion of applications for such technologies. **The Energy Bureau requires that all pilot units actively advance project and regional pilot initiatives, steadily promote the construction and operation of related projects, and foster coordination and integration among institutional mechanisms, management models, infrastructure, and business models.
