I have a question for all fellow industry professionals: Are the jacketed butterfly valves used in sulfur plants at various companies reliable and easy to use? Is there a situation where the valves get stuck and won’t move? Here, when I try to open or close many valves, they simply won’t budge. Are there any valves that are reliable, less prone to clogging, and don’t get stuck?
You’re using a double-offset butterfly valve with a hard seal, right? I don’t actually have that valve on hand; however, I do have a PTFE-lined butterfly valve
We didn’t use a jacket. After the unit was started up, the butterfly valve couldn’t be closed during shutdown!
Yes, it’s quite troublesome. Before driving, the valve has to be taken down, cleaned, repaired, and then put back in place
