Our company uses hydrochloric acid for pickling in production. The hydrochloric acid purchased recently is a by-product of Freon, which has caused severe corrosion and damage to many pieces of equipment, resulting in significant losses. Could you please tell me what the composition of this hydrochloric acid derived from Freon is? Additionally, hydrochloric acid contains hydrofluoric acid; how can hydrofluoric acid be removed?
Hydrochloric acid contains hydrofluoric acid, and electrolytic separation should work; the electrode potential difference between chloride ions and fluoride ions is quite large.
