Some experience sharing on fluoride testing in water quality

I’m not sure what method others use to measure fluoride levels in water; we use a portable fluoride analyzer, which is essentially based on the fluoride ion selective electrode method. Since I work with this electrode quite frequently, I’ve developed a small tip: when using a magnetic stirrer, it’s essential to place an insulating pad under the sample cup. Otherwise, if measurements are taken over an extended period of time, the constant stirring by the magnetic stirrer will cause the bottom of the cup to heat up, leading to inaccurate measurement results.
Potential analysis using an ion meter, including pH analysis, requires temperature compensation, as temperature is an important parameter in the Nernst equation. The ion meter used by the poster does not have a temperature compensation function, or the electrodes used lack temperature sensing elements; in that case, connect a temperature sensor for the solution and use the ion meter’s manual temperature compensation feature.
