Is it necessary to identify 50% hydrogen fluoride liquid as a major hazard source? The list of major hazard sources includes hydrogen fluoride gas; therefore, does 50% hydrogen fluoride liquid in this project also need to be converted to hydrogen fluoride before being assessed as a major hazard source?
In the list of hazardous chemicals: hydrogen fluoride and hydrofluoric acid share the same hazardous chemical code, 7664-39-3. In the list of chemicals subject to strict supervision, hydrogen fluoride and hydrofluoric acid are assigned code 17; however, only hydrogen fluoride is listed in the table for identifying major hazard sources. This formulation of the regulations is not very reasonable – should hydrofluoric acid also be included in such identifications?
It must first be included in the scope of identification before considering whether to calculate its quantity to determine if it constitutes a major hazard source
Purification? Is identifying a mixture sufficient by just purifying it? This isn’t how it’s calculated in the identification of major hazard sources, right?
Since it is a hazardous chemical, this refers to processes such as chemical production, storage, and transportation; it’s not just one or two bottles in an ordinary laboratory, and therefore regulations must be followed. If a large amount is used in the experiment, it is equivalent to chemical production.
