Recently, the first public announcement regarding the environmental impact assessment for Shandong Zhenbo Chemical Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 90,000 tons of anhydrous aluminum fluoride along with high-end fluorine-containing materials was released. The details of the project are as follows: Project name: Project for producing 90,000 tons of anhydrous aluminum fluoride and high-end fluorine-containing materials. Owner of the project: Shandong Zhenbo Chemical Co., Ltd. Location of construction: Maqiao Chemical Industry Park, Huantai County, Zibo City, Shandong Province. Project investment: 470 million yuan. Nature of the construction: New construction. Project overview: The project will be built in two phases; in the first phase, facilities for producing 60,000 tons per year of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride and 90,000 tons per year of anhydrous aluminum fluoride will be constructed, along with auxiliary facilities such as raw material storage areas, tank farms, and sewage treatment plants; Phase II involves the construction of a 20,000-ton/year production facility for electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid. The project will add approximately 500 sets of equipment such as fluidized bed reactors, reaction furnaces, and high-temperature fans. Upon completion of the project, it will produce approximately 90,000 tons per year of anhydrous aluminum fluoride and about 20,000 tons per year of electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid. As by-products, there will be around 230,000 tons per year of fluorogypsum (whose main component is calcium sulfate) and about 10,000 tons per year of fluorosilicic acid, all of which will be sold externally.
