On January 19, the Management Committee of Changshu Economic and Technological Development Zone planned to publish its approval comments on the environmental impact assessment documents for the project undertaken by Changshu Sanaifu Fluorine Chemical Co., Ltd., which aims to produce 6,000 tons of trichloroethylene per year, along with 13,200 tons of hydrochloric acid and 1,200 tons of hydrofluoric acid as by-products. The details of the project are as follows: Project name: Project for producing 6,000 tons of trichloroethylene per year, along with 13,200 tons of hydrochloric acid and 1,200 tons of hydrofluoric acid as by-products; Construction unit: Changshu Sainfu Fluorine Chemical Co., Ltd ; Construction location: No. 2 Changyu Road, Changshu New Materials Industrial Park, Haiyu Town, Changshu City, Suzhou ; Project nature: Technical renovation ; Total investment amount: 194.7457 million yuan ; Construction scale and scope: Phase out the existing production facility for fluorodichloroethane (F141b), eliminating all of its production capacity of 12,632 tons per year. Make use of the existing framework of the F141b facility to build a new hydrogen supply station (Category A, with a construction area of 340.90 m2). Utilize the existing pipe corridors to add new pipelines to the existing CTFE underground storage area, and carry out appropriate modifications to the auxiliary facilities in order to increase production by 6,000 tons per year of CTFE, 13,200 tons per year of hydrochloric acid as a by-product, and 1,200 tons per year of hydrofluoric acid as a by-product.
