I would like to ask the experienced colleagues: what are the requirements for water quality parameters regarding the water used in the ammonia-based flue gas desulfurization process in boilers? Our original design used production water (raw water); now, in order to reduce the amount of wastewater discharged by the company, is it feasible to use this wastewater for the desulfurization process? Some engineers say that a high COD level affects crystallization, while other colleagues claim that with so much dust in the flue gas, production should be fine. But neither of the two situations mentioned is based on any facts. I would appreciate some guidance from those who are more experienced; thank you! The statistics for the discharge parameters outside the factory premises over a six-month period are as follows: pH 7.8–8.4, color intensity 42–52, turbidity 3.9–6.8, total soluble solids 650–750, ammonia nitrogen 0.1–0.2, total residual chlorine <0.01, COD ≤90
Personally, I think there’s no problem; we can supply our reclaimed water directly to the desulfurization and denitration units.
High salt content; repeated use of the concentrate requires regular replacement, otherwise severe crystallization occurs.
There is definitely an impact, it’s just a matter of degree. This can be compared with the raw water to determine which option is more economical, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective.
This will affect the quality of ammonium sulfate; before desulfurization, the flue gas needs to be dust-removed first

Ferrous ions and phenol content also need to be checked
Add a buffer tank; first mix in small quantities to see how it works, and if there are no issues, gradually increase the amount used
